Modelling soil moisture – soil strength relationship of fine-grained upland forest soils
The strength of soil is known to be dependent on water content but the relationship is strongly affected by the type of soil. Accurate moisture content – soil strength models will provide forest managers with the improved ability to reduce soil ...

Artificial structures for human‐machine interfaces with closed‐loop interaction
Artificial structures bridge sensing and feedback in closed‐loop human‐machine interfaces by providing geometry‐enabled mechanical and functional programmability. This review maps the role of artificial structures in diverse sensing modalities and feedback strategies, and illustrates their integration into closed‐loop interaction systems, highlighting ...

Non-Uniform Shear Deformation and Its Influence Factor Sensitivity of Colluvial Coarse-Grained Soil
To investigate the mechanical properties of coarse-grained soil in high-altitude mountainous areas, experimental research was conducted to explore the shear process, shear modulus, shear dilation, and stress axis rotation of coarse-grained soil under ...

Bioavailability through lactic fermentation in millet for combating hidden hunger
Millets are nutrient‐rich grains with considerable potential to combat hidden hunger, but the presence of anti‐nutritional factors, can restrict mineral bioavailability. Processing strategies including soaking, germination, cooking, and lactic acid fermentation can reduce the anti‐nutritional factors.

Stinging nettle (Urtica dioica L.) leaves are a nutrient‐dense source of proteins, dietary fiber, chlorophylls, carotenoids, and phenolic compounds. Processing technologies enable the production of powders and extracts for incorporation into bakery, beverage, dairy, and nutraceutical products; however, challenges remain regarding sensory quality ...

Chemical states of Se and Br atoms in the KPg boundary sediments from Stevns Klint were studied using XAFS spectroscopy. The high concentrations of Se4+ could become an index of the degree to which the global environment was soiled with dust and ash derived from impact ejecta or volcanic eruptions.

New zircon ages reveal that lacustrine sedimentation initiated in the Late Miocene (Messinian), revising earlier Pliocene age assignments. The study results support the interpretation of the northern BFSZ as a broad left‐lateral transtensional shear zone rather than a discrete sinistral fault or simple extensional graben array.
