Fine needle aspiration biopsy of ophthalmic tumors

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Ophthalmology, 2012
A majority of intraocular tumors can be diagnosed based on clinical examination and ocular imaging studies, which obviate the need for diagnostic ophthalmic fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB). Overall, diagnostic accuracy of ophthalmic FNAB is high but limited cellularity can compromise the diagnostic potential of ophthalmic aspirate samples.

Engineering Pt Single‐Atom Doped SeS2/Ti3CNTx MXene with Molecularly Imprinted Polymer for Precision Pancreatic Cancer Diagnostics: DFT and Molecular Dynamics Perspectives

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
A novel approach is developed to pancreatic cancer screening by targeting the cyclophili‐B (CypB)protein using a molecularly imprinted polymer with the electrode material containing Pt single‐atom‐doped/SeS2‐Ti3CNTx MXene. The quantification of CypB in pancreatic cancer tissues provide an insight into the association of CypB with pancreatic cancer ...

Tissue engineering for tendon and ligament repair: Insights and advances

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Tendon and ligament injuries are widespread diseases, leading to severe pain and a consequent reduced mobility. This phenomenon is mainly due to the limited ability to self‐healing of these tissues. Unfortunately, the currently available surgical and rehabilitative treatments suffer frequent complications and incomplete success.

Endoscopic Raman robot for upper gastrointestinal tumor diagnosis

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Abstract Gastric and esophageal cancers are the primary forms of upper gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies, with early diagnosis being critical for improving patient survival rates. Raman spectroscopy has emerged as a promising non‐invasive tool for in situ tumor diagnosis, offering detailed biochemical molecular insights.

Tumour‐informed workflow to use ctDNA as a biomarker for risk of recurrence in head and neck cancer patients post‐treatment

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Our study presents a tumour‐informed circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) workflow designed to enhance the detection of recurrence in head and neck cancer patients, addressing key challenges such as low ctDNA tumour fractions and tumour heterogeneity. Abstract Circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) is a promising minimally invasive biomarker for monitoring treatment

Primary non-Hodgkin's lymphoma of breast – A rare cause of breast lump

open access: yesHuman Pathology: Case Reports, 2017
We, here, report a case of primary breast lymphoma in a 59 years old female. The diagnosis was suspected on fine needle aspiration cytology and confirmed on excision biopsy of the tumor. Histology and immunophenotyping were in accordance with non-Hodgkin'

Insulinoma in a dog (Canis lupus familiaris) with concurrent non‐cardiogenic pulmonary oedema

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, EarlyView.
Abstract A 12‐year‐old, female, neutered beagle presented with hypoglycaemia, sudden‐onset non‐ambulatory tetraparesis and a single tonic‐clonic seizure. Computed tomography revealed a pancreatic nodule, consistent with an insulinoma, an enlarged hepatic lymph node and ground‐glass attenuation of the lung parenchyma, most consistent with non ...
