First Case of a Biochemically Normal Intrathyroidal Parathyroid Carcinoma: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 13, Issue 11, November 2025.
Ultrasound images of an intrathyroidal parathyroid carcinoma. ABSTRACT Parathyroid carcinoma (PC) is a rare and aggressive endocrine malignancy. Rarer still is PC presenting in an intrathyroidal location. We report the first case of a biochemically normal intrathyroidal parathyroid carcinoma and review the literature on this rare clinical entity.

FNA biopsy of breast specimens effectively harvests cells for patient‐derived organoids modeling ductal carcinoma in situ

open access: yesCancer Cytopathology, Volume 133, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Background Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) generated from benign breast tissue and breast carcinomas have successfully recapitulated their in vivo counterparts. PDOs model tumorigenesis and allow for screening novel therapeutics personalized to individual patients. However, acquiring cells to generate PDOs is cumbersome.

A Review of Deep Learning for Respiratory Motion Tracking in 2D and 3D Ultrasound Sequences for Image‐Guided Therapy

open access: yesInternational Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology, Volume 35, Issue 6, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Ultrasound (US) imaging is widely used in image‐guided therapies due to its real‐time capability, high temporal resolution, cost‐effectiveness, safety, and portability. While many US tracking methods exist, most reviews focus on conventional techniques and overlook recent advances in deep learning (DL).

MR‐Guidance of Gene Therapy for Brain Diseases: Moving From Palliative Treatment to Cures

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 62, Issue 5, Page 1280-1295, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Regulatory bodies in the U.S. and Europe recently approved a gene therapy for aromatic L‐amino acid decarboxylase (AADC) deficiency, a rare neurologic disorder where a genetic mutation prevents dopamine production in the brain. Affected children fail to develop normal motor and cognitive functions.

Thyroid Cancer: Pathogenesis, Clinicopathology, Diagnosis, and Management

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 11, November 2025.
Thyroid cancer risk is influenced by both genetic and modifiable factors, including mutations, radiation exposure, lifestyle, and pre‐existing benign conditions. Diagnosis involves physical exams, ultrasound, scintigraphy, laboratory tests, and fine‐needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB).
