A fine needle aspiration biopsy of intraocular tumors

open access: yesОфтальмохирургия, 2020
Purpose: To present our experience of fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) of intraocular tumors.Material and methods: Within 3 years FNAB was performed in 154 eyes  (154  patients)  for  prognostic  (n=  121)  and  diagnostic  purposes (n=33).

Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy

open access: yes, 2014
Fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) of tumors has a long history. The first intraocular biopsy was performed by Hirschberg in 1868. Since the publication of a major report by Jakobiec in 1979, FNAB is increasingly used in the evaluation of ophthalmic tumors.

Soft Micromanipulation Robot for Real‐Time Adaptive Multimodal Operation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This manuscript proposes a soft micromanipulator robot (SMR) for “full‐angle” precision biomedical operations. Bio‐inspired SMR achieves omnidirectional motion, micrometer precision, and multimodal capabilities including aspiration, transfer, rotation, assembly, injection, and cutting.

Comparison of EUS-guided tissue acquisition using two different 19-gauge core biopsy needles: a multicenter, prospective, randomized, and blinded study [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
BACKGROUND AND STUDY AIMS: The optimal core biopsy needle for endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) is unknown. The principle aim of this study is to compare outcomes of EUS-fine-needle biopsy (EUS-FNB) with a new 19-gauge EUS histology needle (ProCore, Cook ...

Deep Learning‐Assisted Coherent Raman Scattering Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
The analytical capabilities of coherent Raman scattering microscopy are augmented through deep learning integration. This synergistic paradigm improves fundamental performance via denoising, deconvolution, and hyperspectral unmixing. Concurrently, it enhances downstream image analysis including subcellular localization, virtual staining, and clinical ...

World Health Organization (WHO)/International Society of Urological Pathology (ISUP) grading in fine‐needle aspiration biopsies of renal masses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background Utilization of fine‐needle aspiration (FNA) biopsy for the evaluation of renal masses has been increasing at our institution. At times diagnostic material on direct smears is superior to that in the cell block/core biopsy, therefore assigning

Rectal metastasis from lung cancer diagnosed by endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine needle biopsy: A case report. [PDF]

open access: yesDEN Open
Abstract A 73‐year‐old man visited our hospital due to hyperintestinal peristalsis and diarrhea. He had been undergoing regular annual checkups for dust lung disease. Contrast‐enhanced computed tomography scan showed edematous thickening of the rectal wall with contrast effect.
