Activated alumina sludge as partial substitute for fine aggregates in brick making
Construction and Building Materials, 2019Abstract Community water defluoridation plants primarily use activated alumina (AA) for treatment. However, this process generates toxic AA-sludge for which no sustainable method of disposal is currently known. This study evaluated whether AA-sludge could be partially used in manufacturing bricks that are structurally stable and non-polluting. The AA-

DEVELOPMENT OF SUSTAINABLE CONCRETE USING COPPER SLAG AS A SUBSTITUTE OF FINE AGGREGATE
2023Abstract The research aimed to investigate the mechanical and durability qualities of concrete mix designs by incorporating copper slag (CS) as a substitute for fine aggregate of natural sand (NS). Eleven concrete mixtures were casted, including the control mix, with varying concentrations of CS ranging from 0% to 100% at an increment of 10%.

Properties of Concrete Using Copper Slag as a Substitute for Fine Aggregate
"SP-114: Fly Ash, Silica Fume, Slag, and Natural Pozzolans in Concrete: Proceedings of the Third International Conference", 1989This paper will discuss that copper slag, a by-product of copper production, contains large amounts of iron oxide and silicate. It is chemically stable and its physical properties are similar to that of natural sand. The physical and chemical properties of copper slag were investigated.

Using crushed stone dust as a substitute for fine aggregates in concrete
Caderno PedagógicoGeneration of waste from mining and high consumption of natural aggregates resulting from civil construction works have significant economic and environmental impacts. Aiming to use the stone dust residue from the rock crushing process, this study experimentally evaluates the use of crushed stone dust as a partial substitute for fine aggregates in ...
