Observational Evidence for Wind‐Driven Low‐Pass Filtering of Infrasound at Short Range
Abstract Infrasound from controlled explosions provides a unique opportunity to isolate atmospheric effects on propagation. We report observations from two campaigns in May and October 2024, each featuring 10‐ton TNT‐equivalent controlled surface chemical explosions recorded by a dense network of 31 single‐sensor stations within 23 km.

Expectations for Inflationary Observables: Simple or Natural?
We describe the general inflationary dynamics that can arise with a single, canonically coupled field where the inflaton potential is a 4-th order polynomial. This scenario yields a wide range of combinations of the empirical spectral observables, $n_s$,

The stellar content of the super star clusters in NGC 1569 [PDF]
We discuss HST FOS ultraviolet spectroscopy and NICMOS near-infrared photometry of four young super star clusters in the central region of the irregular starburst galaxy NGC 1569. The new observations coupled with previous HST WFPC2 photometry and ground-

Insect‐Inspired Resilient Machines
This study presents a decentralized resilient control for legged robots, enabling self‐organized locomotion and rapid adaptation to extreme leg loss within seconds. It encodes the self‐embodied resilience strategies observed in stick insects and relies on neural dynamics with synaptic plasticity, minimal sensory feedback, and dynamic robot–environment ...

Trans-Planckian signals from the breaking of local Lorentz invariance
This article examines how a breakdown of a locally Lorentz invariant, point-like description of nature at tiny space-time intervals would translate into a distinctive set of signals in the primordial power spectrum generated by inflation.

ABSTRACT This study examines how environmental regulatory shocks affect the supply chain configuration of highly polluting firms, a relatively understudied area in the sustainable operations literature. Using a panel dataset of Chinese A‐share listed firms from 2009 to 2022, we employ a Difference‐in‐Differences (DID) design to examine the causal ...

Running Spectral Index from Inflation with Modulations
We argue that a large negative running spectral index, if confirmed, might suggest that there are abundant structures in the inflaton potential, which result in a fairly large (both positive and negative) running of the spectral index at all scales.
