Cementitious properties of super-fine steel slag
Powder Technology, 2013Abstract In this study, a super-fine steel slag with the specific surface area of 786 m2/kg was prepared by mechanical grinding. Its cementitious properties were investigated by comparing the results obtained from it with those obtained from ordinary steel slag, fly ash, and cement.

The Effect of Fine Dispersed Slag Component on the Slag Portland Cement Properties
Materials Science Forum, 2020Cement compositions based on slag Portland cement and fine dispersed slag component are considered. It has been established that the introduction of 1-3% fine slag obtained as a result of ultrafine grinding in a jet mill into the slag Portland cement composition provides an increase in the strength and structural characteristics of cement stone from ...

Effects of slag fineness on durability of mortars
Journal of Zhejiang University-SCIENCE A, 2007In recent years, the usages of by-products and wastes in industry have become more important. The importance of the sustainable development is also of increasing. The utilizations of wastes, as mineral admixture or fine aggregate, reduce the consumption of the natural resources and improve the durability of concrete.

Steelmaking slags are usually processed for iron recovery by dry magnetic separation. The recovered iron-rich products are recycled back into the ironmaking and steelmaking processes to replace high-cost steel scrap and iron ores. However, current slag processing is far away from optimum conditions, especially for slag fines with small particle sizes ...

Influence of fineness on the cementitious properties of steel slag
Journal of Thermal Analysis and Calorimetry, 2014In this paper, the influence of fineness on the cementitious properties of steel slag and the properties of cement containing steel slag with different finenesses were investigated. The results show that increasing the fineness can significantly enhance the early as well as the late cementitious properties of steel slag.

Blasted copper slag as fine aggregate in Portland cement concrete
Journal of Environmental Management, 2017The present work focuses on assessing the viability of applying blasted copper slag, produced during abrasive blasting, as fine aggregate for Portland cement concrete manufacturing, resulting in an alternative and safe disposal method. Leaching assays showed no toxicity for this material. Concrete mixtures were produced, with high aggregate replacement
