The Application of Hydrochar Composite Briquettes for Sustainable Slag Foaming in the Electric Arc Furnace Process

Hydrochar‐mill‐scale briquettes with varying C/O molar ratios (0.07–0.90) have been tested at 1650 °C to evaluate their slag foaming performance for electric arc furnace application. All seven briquette recipes developed succeed in promoting slag foaming.

In this study, the use of steel slag as fine and/or coarse aggregate in concrete is investigated. For this purpose, 12 different concrete mixtures with different water/cement ratios of 0.40, 0.55 and 0.70 which include steel slag aggregate as fine and/or coarse aggregate are prepared.

Isothermal Reduction Behavior and Microstructural Evolution of Iron Ore Sinter Under Simulated Radial Blast Furnace Gas Atmospheres With Hydrogen Injection

Commercial iron ore sinter is reduced isothermally under operation‐derived radial blast furnace gas atmospheres with and without 20 kg H2/tHM injection. Hydrogen improves reduction at 900–1100 °C, whereas at 700 °C the high H2O content limits the wüstite‐to‐iron driving force.
