Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed

Experimental Investigation on the Effects of CO2 Displacement Methods on Petrophysical Property Changes of Ultra-Low Permeability Sandstone Reservoirs Near Injection Wells

open access: yesEnergies, 2019
The petrophysical properties of ultra-low permeability sandstone reservoirs near the injection wells change significantly after CO2 injection for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and CO2 storage, and different CO2 displacement methods have different effects ...

Mechanism Verification of Electrochemical Migration of Fine Cu Wiring

open access: yesJapanese Journal of Applied Physics, 2011
The mechanisms of electrochemical migration and consequent insulation failure in fine-pitch Cu wiring (line/space = 3 µm/3 µm) are investigated. A model in which the migration takes place in the presence of water in a phenol-based resin–resin interface between biased Cu traces is proposed. Replacing the bottom resin layer by a SiN layer is found to

Effect of Laser Deoxidation on Adhesive‐Bonded Aluminum in an Oxygen‐Free Atmosphere

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates laser ablation of aluminum under oxygen‐free conditions. The goal is to produce oxide‐free substrates that enable improved adhesive bonding with epoxy. Optimized laser parameters (90% overlap, 300 µJ) combined with oxide‐free substrates result in the highest tensile strength of the adhesive bond.

An Experimental Study on Coal Fines Migration during Single Phase Water Flow

open access: yesGeofluids, 2020
Coal fines migration and intrusion in coal fractures affect coalbed methane (CBM) wells performance by reducing reservoir permeability and production continuity. Physical simulations are conducted to investigate the permeability variation under different

Characterization of a Recyclate‐Based MgO‐Steel Composite As‐Sintered Inert Anode Candidate After Exposure to Cryolite Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon‐free inert anodes are essential for decarbonizing aluminum electrolysis. This study investigates a recyclate‐based MgO‐316L steel composite anode tested under galvanostatic Hall–Héroult conditions in cryolite at 1000°C. Microstructural analysis reveals selective MgO fluorination, spinel and oxide layer formation, electrolyte infiltration, and ...

Population of Nonmetallic Inclusions in Liquid High‐Silicon Electrical Steel in Contact With MgO–C Refractories Based on Recyclates and Environmentally Friendly Binders

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The formation of nonmetallic inclusions (NMIs) was investigated in this study, carrying out immersion tests for 30 min at a temperature of 1600°C with liquid high‐silicon electrical steel (Si ≈ 3 mass‐%) and different MgO–C refractories. Conventional MgO–C refractories were considered, as well as MgO–C refractories containing MgO–C recyclate and ...

Silica nanoparticles for fines stabilization in Ottawa sand packed beds; Uso de nanopartículas de sílice para la estabilización de finos en lechos empacados de arena Ottawa

open access: yesInformador Técnico, 2013
To determine the problem of fines migration on packed beds and offer a possible solution for this issue, an adsorptive system of packed beds was developed for experimental simulation of fines migration and stabilization by using silica nanoparticles. The

Fine-Resolution Asymmetric Migration Estimation

open access: yes
AbstractThe genetic structure of populations is often shaped by processes and events that introduce asymmetries to gene flow between geographic locations. Existing population genetic methods like EEMS and FEEMS summarize gene flow using effective equilibrium migration rates that are assumed to be symmetric, providing representations of underlying ...
