Longitudinal Finger Rotation in Finger-Vein Recognition
2018 International Conference of the Biometrics Special Interest Group (BIOSIG), 2018Finger-vein scanners or vein-based biometrics in general are becoming more and more popular. Commercial off-the-shelf finger-vein scanners usually capture only one finger from the palmar side using transillumination. Most scanners have a contact area and a finger-shaped support where the finger has to be placed onto in order to prevent misplacements of

A Novel Matching Strategy for Finger Vein Recognition
2013Finger vein recognition is a promising biometric recognition technology, which verifies identities via the vein patterns in the fingers. The vein vessel network is a very important vein pattern for finger vein recognition. Based on this pattern, in the matching stage, the matched pixel ratio (MPR), Hamming distance (HD) and the mismatched ratio are ...

Structure Feature Extraction for Finger-Vein Recognition
2013 2nd IAPR Asian Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2013A new finger-vein image matching method based on structure feature is proposed in this paper. To describe the finger-vein structures conveniently, the vein skeletons are firstly extracted and used as the primitive information. Based on the skeletons, a curve tracing scheme depended on junction points is proposed for curve segment extraction.

A bilayer image restoration for finger vein recognition
Neurocomputing, 2019Abstract Finger vein recognition has been widely adopted for human verification because of its high recognition rate and security. Nonetheless, due to light scattering and attenuation in biological tissues, the collected finger vein images are often seriously degraded.

Research on Finger Vein Recognition Based on NSST
2015In the finger vein image collection procedure, there are always two kinds of negative factors: the first is unstable illumination, the second is information loss caused by bad collection operation. There are not yet special methods for the above-mentioned question for now.

Sensor ageing impact on finger-vein recognition
2015 International Conference on Biometrics (ICB), 2015The impact of sensor ageing related pixel defects on the performance of finger vein based recognition systems in terms of the EER (Equal Error Rate) is investigated. Therefore the defect growth rate per year for the sensor used to capture the data set was estimated.

Finger vein recognition based on deformation information
Science China Information Sciences, 2017The measurement of the vessel pattern in fingers is a superior method for identifying individuals owing to its convenience and the security it offers. We introduce in this paper a new perspective to accomplish finger vein recognition. This method, which regards deformations as discriminative information, is distinct from existing methods that attempt ...
