Introduction to Fingerprint Recognition
2022Fingerprints, which have been used for about 100 years, are the oldest biometric signs of identity. With the increasing power of computers, automated systems have been developed to automate the tedious manual classification and matching methods of fingerprints.

Fingerprint recognition using CNNs: fingerprint preprocessing
ISCAS 2001. The 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01CH37196), 2002Image preprocessing is an important step in the area of image processing and pattern recognition. In this paper we present a CNN image preprocessing algorithm which is especially suited for fingerprint recognition. It is applied to real gray-scale noisy fingerprints. The results demonstrate the advantage of the proposed algorithm.

Technometrics, 2007
Biometric recognition, or biometrics, refers to the authentication of an individual based on her or his biometric traits. Among the various biometric traits (e.g., face, iris, fingerprint, voice), fingerprint-based authentication has the longest history, and it has been successfully adopted in both forensic and civilian applications.

Simultaneous latent fingerprint recognition
Applied Soft Computing, 2011Abstract: Simultaneous latent fingerprints are clusters of friction ridge impressions deposited concurrently in a crime scene. The analysis of these impressions is a complex task to infer individualization, exclusion or categorize as inconclusive. The problem is further compounded when distinctive features in each latent fingerprint in the cluster are ...

Reliable fingerprint recognition
2017Fingerprints have been used for personal identification for centuries because of their uniqueness and consistency over time. Fingerprint recognition is one of the most popular methods for personal identification due to its high accuracy, cost efficiency and ease of acquisition. Automated fingerprint recognition has the advantages of fast processing and

Fingerprint Recognition, Overview
2009Fingerprint recognition allows a person to be verified or identified through the analysis and comparison of his/her finger dermal ridges. Fingerprint recognition was one of the first techniques used for automatically identifying people and today is still one of the most popular and effective biometric techniques.

Frequency-Based Fingerprint Recognition
2009abstract Fingerprint recognition is one of the most popular methods used for identification with greater success degree. Fingerprint has unique characteristics called minutiae, which are points where a curve track ends, intersects, or branches off.
