Fingerprint Recognition

Second International Conference on Internet Monitoring and Protection (ICIMP 2007), 2007
Fingerprint recognition is one of the most popular and successful methods used for person identification, which takes advantage of the fact that the fingerprint has some unique characteristics called minutiae; which are points where a curve track finishes, intersect with other track or branches off.

Introduction to Fingerprint Recognition

2022
Fingerprints, which have been used for about 100 years, are the oldest biometric signs of identity. With the increasing power of computers, automated systems have been developed to automate the tedious manual classification and matching methods of fingerprints.

Fingerprint recognition using CNNs: fingerprint preprocessing

ISCAS 2001. The 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01CH37196), 2002
Image preprocessing is an important step in the area of image processing and pattern recognition. In this paper we present a CNN image preprocessing algorithm which is especially suited for fingerprint recognition. It is applied to real gray-scale noisy fingerprints. The results demonstrate the advantage of the proposed algorithm.

Fingerprint-Based Recognition

Technometrics, 2007
Biometric recognition, or biometrics, refers to the authentication of an individual based on her or his biometric traits. Among the various biometric traits (e.g., face, iris, fingerprint, voice), fingerprint-based authentication has the longest history, and it has been successfully adopted in both forensic and civilian applications.

Fingerprint‐Based Recognition

International Statistical Review, 2013
