3D‐Printed Sinus Lift Training Models as an Educational Tool for Dental Students

open access: yesJournal of Dental Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose/Objectives The aim of this study was to evaluate whether 3D‐printed models can be an inexpensive and suitable way to train dental students to perform a sinus lift. Methods The sinus lift model was created using CAD/CAM technology. Approximately one year prior to their final examination, thirty‐one dental students evaluated and tested ...

Can DNA from wet, temperate soils be used for palaeoecological reconstruction?

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Sedimentary ancient DNA in well‐dated contexts (sedaDNA) has great potential as a palaeoecological proxy. A few studies have attempted palaeoecological reconstructions using sedaDNA from soil; these studies have been mainly restricted to cold and/or dry soils.

Transcending the Space‐Bandwidth and Lighting Trade‐Offs: A Programmable Self‐Mixing Interferometry Imager for Cross‐Scale Surface Inspection

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
This work reports a laser diode‐based self‐mixing interferometry imager featuring illumination‐invariance imaging, a 500 kHz pixel rate, and an 8.77 µm lateral resolution. It also features a programmable field‐of‐view and leading space‐bandwidth product that surpasses existing technologies by an order of magnitude, enabling cross‐scale workflow ...

Experimental and Comparative Study of the Corrosion Behavior of Lean Duplex Stainless Steel in Seawater

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, EarlyView.
The localized corrosion behavior of lean duplex stainless steel EN 1.4062 is systematically compared with austenitic and higher‐alloyed duplex grades in natural seawater. A clear resistance ranking is established, highlighting EN 1.4062 as a cost‐effective alternative for limited marine exposure.
