Microstructures fabricated by two‐beam DLIP combining spatial‐period and roughness gradients are fabricated to enhance directional transport of water droplets. The coupled gradients increase transport distance by 160% and strongly suppress motion against the gradient, demonstrating an effective strategy for controlled droplet manipulation.

Evaluation of weatherability of finished wood by surface roughness analysis
市販の木材保護塗料10種類をスギ心材に塗装し, 山形市内において南向き45度傾斜の条件で24ヶ月間の屋外暴露試験に供し, 塗装面の変色, 撥水度の変化を評価した。また, 塗装面の浸食の程度を評価するため, レーザプローブ式非接触三次元測定装置を用いて, 算術平均粗さ (Ra) の変化を測定した。塗装木材の色差 (Δ E*ab) は, いずれの塗料についても, 暴露開始から徐々に増加する傾向を示した。一方, 撥水度は, 暴露開始から6ヶ月後まで100%近い値を維持していたが, 9ヶ月後からは低下し始めた。Raの変化傾向は, 撥水度のそれに似ており, 暴露6ヶ月後まで10μm 以下の値を維持した後, 9ヶ月後からは増加する傾向を示した。また, 暴露24ヶ月後のRaと撥水度には負の相関が ...
