Progress in Surface‐Enhanced Raman Scattering‐Based Volatile Organic Compounds Detection: Materials, Application, and Prospects

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT The detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) holds significant implications in environmental monitoring and disease diagnosis. Traditional gas detection technologies are constrained by complex operation and high cost, thereby failing to satisfy real‐time detection demands.

Au LSPR Effect Enhanced R‐CeO2/G‐C3N4 S‐scheme Heterojunction for Accelerating CO2 Photoreduction Performance

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 16, 17 March 2026.
This study develops an Au localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) enhanced S‐scheme heterojunction between oxygen vacancy‐rich CeO2 (R‐CeO2) and graphitic carbon nitride (g‐C3N4) for efficient CO2 photoreduction. The ternary catalyst achieves high CO yield by synergistically improving carrier separation and reducing energy barriers, as validated ...

Trans‐reflective color filters with brilliant colors by integrating organic dyes with photonic crystals

open access: yesSmart Molecules, Volume 4, Issue 1, March 2026.
A novel trans‐reflective color filter design achieves high color purity, >70% transmittance, and exceptional UV/thermal stability by integrating dye‐doped polysulfone with photonic crystals, enabling advanced dual‐mode displays. Abstract Color filters are essential components for optical modulation.

Single‐Molecule Imaging and Spectroscopy Enables Quantification of Location‐Dependent Light–Matter Interactions on Nanoantennas

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 3, March 2026.
The fluorescence intensity as well as the spectral shape of the emission of single dye molecules strongly depend on the molecules’ exact position relative to plasmonic nanoparticles in hybrid systems. By point‐spread function modification analysis, the vertical binding location of single fluorophores on gold nanocones is obtained and correlated to both

Focused Thermal Emission From a Radiative Metasurface

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2026.
MIM‐type metasurfaces, consisting of metal‐dielectric‐metal nanostructures, are promising materials for achieving highly efficient photothermal conversion. By introducing a structural arrangement inspired by metalens, which can focus light using a two‐dimensional lens, into this structure, we have achieved filter‐less light‐focusing operation.
