Adaptive Observer for Coupled Wave PDE and Infinite ODE With Sampled Data and Unknown Input: Application to Brain Hemodynamics Estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Stochastic Finite-Time Output Feedback Stabilization of Feedforward Nonlinear Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The finite-time stabilization for stochastic high-order nonlinear systems is considered in this paper using output feedback. The power orders in the system nonlinearities are relaxed to be rational number greater than one.

Finite-time stabilization of switched nonlinear singular systems with asynchronous switching

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2021
This paper is concerned with the finite-time stabilization of a class of switched nonlinear singular systems under asynchronous control. Asynchronism here refers to the delays in switching between the controller and the subsystem.

Input-to-state stability for discrete-time time-varying systems with applications to robust stabilization of systems in power form [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Input-to-state stability (ISS) of a parameterized family of discrete-time time-varying nonlinear systems is investigated. A converse Lyapunov theorem for such systems is developed.

Carboxylic‐Acid Functionalized Multiwalled Carbon Nanotube‐Alkane‐Based Resistive Temperature Sensor for Cold Chain Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

Prescribed finite-time stabilization of fuzzy neural networks with time-varying controller

open access: yesJournal of Automation and Intelligence
This paper investigates the exponential and prescribed finite-time stabilization with time-varying controller. First, the constraints of boundedness and differentiability on time delays are simultaneously relaxed, the Lipschitz condition for activation ...

On Condition for Output Finite-Time Stability and Adaptive Finite-Time Control Scheme [PDF]

open access: yes2019 IEEE 58th Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2019
A sufficient condition for output finite-time stability is presented. Based on this condition a scheme of adaptive finite-time control design is provided. The presented results are obtained with the use of homogeneity property. The theoretical results are supported by numerical examples.

A Numerical–Experimental Approach for Multi‐Matrix Fiber‐Reinforced Plastics Characterization Using Finite Element Model Updating

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.
