Finite temperature at finite places
This paper studies AdS/CFT in its p-adic version (at the “finite place”) in the setting where the bulk geometry is made up of the Tate curve, a discrete quotient of the Bruhat-Tits tree. Generalizing a classic result due to Zabrodin, the boundary dual of

Finite tripotents and finite JBW⁎-triples [PDF]
We study two natural preorders on the set of tripotents in a JB$^*$-triple defined in terms of their Peirce decomposition and weaker than the standard partial order. We further introduce and investigate the notion of finiteness for tripotents in JBW$^*$-triples which is a natural generalization of finiteness for projections in von Neumann algebras.

The finite-volume method in computational rheology [PDF]
The finite volume method (FVM) is widely used in traditional computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and many commercial CFD codes are based on this technique which is typically less demanding in computational resources than finite element methods (FEM ...

On Finite and Non-Finite Bayesian Mixture Models
In this paper, a Bayesian paradigm of a mixture model with finite and non-finite components is expounded for a generic prior and likelihood that can be of any distributional random noise.

Finite algebras of finite complexity
Let \(L\), \(R\) be symmetric relations of an algebra \(A\), \(\delta \in\text{Con} A\), \(t\) be an arbitrary polynomial and \(a, b, c, d\) be vectors of elements of \(A\). \(L\) rectangulates \(R\) modulo \(\delta\), in symbols \({\mathcal R} (L,R,\delta)\), if \(aLb\), \(cRd\) and \(t(a,c)\delta t(b,d)\) imply that all \(t(a,c)\), \(t(a,d)\), \(t(b ...

On quasi-identities of finite modular lattices. II [PDF]
The existence of a finite identity basis for any finite lattice was established by R. McKenzie in 1970, but the analogous statement for quasi-identities is incorrect. So, there is a finite lattice that does not have a finite quasi-identity basis

Merging enriched Finite Element triangle meshes for fast prototyping of alternate solutions in the context of industrial maintenance [PDF]
A new approach to the merging of Finite Element (FE) triangle meshes is proposed. Not only it takes into account the geometric aspects, but it also considers the way the semantic information possibly associated to the groups of entities (nodes, faces ...
