Theoretical Approaches of Finite Elements Method (FEM)

2021
In engineering practices, electromagnetic field problems are of two main types: analysis and synthesis problems. In principle, a synthesis problem can be solved by an iterative technique, repeating the solving of some analysis problems, for configurations adapted because of some preliminary results of analysis simulations.

Coupling of non‐ordinary state‐based peridynamics and finite element method for fracture propagation in saturated porous media

International journal for numerical and analytical methods in geomechanics (Print), 2021
In the present manuscript fracture propagation in a saturated porous medium is modeled based on the classical Biot theory, where solid skeleton and fluid flow are represented by separate two layers.

Coupling edge-based smoothed finite element method with smoothed particle hydrodynamics for fluid structure interaction problems

, 2021
Numerical simulation of fluid structure interaction (FSI) problems is one of the most challenging topics in computational fluid dynamics. In this paper, coupling edge-based smoothed finite element method (ES-FEM) and smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH)

Outline of Finite Element Method (FEM)

2003
The derivation of element stiffness will be discussed in this chapter. When element stiffness matrix is given, the solution will be obtained through the following process: 1. The construction of global stiffness matrix through the assembling of given element stiffness matrixes 2. The provision of the boundary condition 3.

Comparison of FEM-PEEC Coupled Method and Finite-Element Method

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2010
This paper analyzes the efficiencies of the new coupling between finite-element methods (FEMs) and the partial element equivalent circuit method (PEEC), which are computation time and memory space. To show its performance, a common mode filter is modeled by the coupling and the results are then compared with those of a FEM analysis.

Finite Elemente Methode (FEM)

2018

A physical perspective of the element‐based finite volume method and FEM‐Galerkin methods within the framework of the space of finite elements

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2014
SUMMARYThe literature shows an increasing number of works focused on investigating the behaviour of methods that uses concepts of control volumes in the solution of structural problems. In recent years, new approaches using unstructured meshes have been proposed, most of which addressing new applications and, to a lesser extent, the underling physical ...
