In order to explore an efficient, accurate, and convenient finite element simulation method for laser peening forming, a square laser loading model was constructed by studying the loading feature unit of the circular spot superposition model, which can ...

Finite element analysis of cross-diffusion three-species Shigesada-Kawasaki-Teramoto model [PDF]
In this study, a three-species Shigesada-Kawasaki-Teramoto (SKT) model was studied numerically using the finite element method (FEM). The first step is to introduce the regularised problem to the original problem.

Finite Element Model Optimization Using Diagonal Mass Matrix
By adjusting the analytic mass matrix or stiffness parameters, the correlation between measured and computed modal data can be improved. This article proposes a simple method for model optimization.

A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

A Composite Finite Element-Finite Difference Model Applied to Turbulence Modelling [PDF]
Turbulence has been modeled by a two equation k-?turbulence model to investigate the wind induced circulation patterns in coastal waters. Predictions of the model have been compared by the predictions of two equation k-?turbulence model. Kinetic energy of turbulence is k, dissipation rate of turbulence is ?, and frequency of turbulence is ?.

Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.
