A two‐dimensional multiscale finite element analysis framework was established for the first‐generation MoSiBTiC alloy, and the mechanical and fracture‐related parameters of the constituent phases were calibrated through experiments and simulations. The framework provides a basis for analyzing crack propagation behavior in its complex microstructure ...

Modular Critical Element Recycling Platform Using a Nanoporous Additively Manufactured Gyroid
A modular recycling platform integrates 3D‐printed nanoporous gyroid structures to enable efficient critical element recovery. This system utilizes a hierarchical architecture, combining macroscopic channels with polymerization‐induced nanoscale porosity. By systematically tuning structural wall thickness and resin formulation, the platform achieves an

Three Case Studies in Finite Element Model Updating
This article summarizes the basic formulation of two well-established finite element model (FEM) updating techniques for improved dynamic analysis, namely the response function method (RFM) and the inverse eigensensitivity method (IESM).

Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Finite Element Modeling of Cold-Formed Steel Bolted Moment Connection
This paper describes the finite element procedure for modeling cold-formed steel bolted moment connection to simulate hysteretic moment-rotation behavior and failure mode. The connection element consists of CFS curved flange beams, double-lipped channel

This study shows that superalloys used in aircraft engine disks become much more prone to deformation at high temperatures if they have been strained during manufacturing. This effect increases with the level of prior strain but eventually reaches a limit.

Dislocation cutting of γ′ precipitates in Ni‐based superalloys is investigated by linking atomistic simulations with discrete dislocation dynamics. The critical cutting stress is shown to be governed by the antiphase boundary energy, while line tension effects promote edge‐preferred cutting.
