IronPython-Based Automated Computational Platform for 3-D Finite Element Modeling and Electric/Magnetic Field Analysis of Overhead Transmission Lines

open access: yesEnergies
To address the low efficiency of finite element modeling and the reliance on manual measurements in electric/magnetic field analysis of complex overhead transmission line structures, this paper develops an IronPython-based automated computational ...

Integrated Field‐Free SOT Domain‐Wall Synapses and MTJ Stochastic Neurons for Hardware Boltzmann Machines

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Field‐free spin‐orbit torque domain‐wall synapses integrated with stochastic MTJ neurons enable compact hardware Boltzmann machines. Leveraging intrinsic stochasticity and multi‐level conductance, the system achieves efficient probabilistic learning with high accuracy, demonstrating a scalable spintronic platform for energy‐efficient edge AI.

Finite element dynamic simulation of whole rallying car structure: Towards better understanding of structural dynamics during side impact [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Side impact accidents against a tree or pole remain the most dangerous accident scenarios in rally cars. Statistical data shows that 52% of the fatalities between 2004 and 2009 concern crashes against a rigid pole by the track sides, whilst among ...

Historical Foundation and Practical Guideline for Ferroelectric Switching Kinetic Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The P and U pulses in the conventional PUND measurements are not identical because of the interplay between switching current and the measurement circuit components. This circuit effect can lead to a shift in polarization transients and misinterpreted physics in the switching kinetics.

Finite element modeling of a thermally actuated polymer micro robotic gripper

open access: yes, 2004
This paper describes the structural and thermal model of a thermally actuated polymer micro robotic gripper. The basic structure for the gripper is a trimorph thermal actuator with a platinum metal heater encapsulated by parylene C polymer layers. Due to

Near‐Infrared Light‐Driven Zn/Au Janus Micromotors for Multiplex SERS Detection of Anticancer Drugs

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Zn/Au Janus micromotors, propelled by thermophoretic effects under NIR light, function as active SERS platforms for single and multiplex detection of anticancer drugs. Their dynamic motion enhances analyte exchange at the Au interface, reducing saturation and competitive adsorption, thereby improving sensitivity and extending the linear detection range.

Large Transverse Thermoelectric Effect in Weyl Semimetal TaIrTe4 Engineered for Photodetection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This experimental work shows that the anomalous scanning photocurrent response patterns of the Weyl semimetal TaIrTe4${\rm TaIrTe}_4$ under visible and long‐wave infrared illumination are due to a large transverse thermoelectric response of the material.

Ionic Transportation Induced Electric Field Modulation in Porous Ecoflex/PTFE with Confined Liquid for High‐Performance Contact Electrification Power Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Porous Ecoflex/PTFE composite with encapsulated liquid generates electricity through ionic migration induced by dynamic pore deformation, creating non‐uniform electric fields that drive charge induction on electrodes. This mechanism enhances charge transfer and ensures stable contact electrification performance, achieving 12 V and 4 nC with consistent ...
