Adaptive Observer for Coupled Wave PDE and Infinite ODE With Sampled Data and Unknown Input: Application to Brain Hemodynamics Estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.

The Trefftz finite elements modelling crack propagation

open access: yesComputer Assisted Methods in Engineering and Science, 2022
Investigation of crack propagation can sometimes be a crucial stage of engineering analysis. The T–element method presented in this work is a convenient tool to deal with it.

Demostració pràctica de la validesa dels models matemàtics en elements finits. Aplicació al model de Cross

open access: yesModelling in Science Education and Learning, 2013
The mathematical model's validity used in computer programs are based on a specific formula implemented leading commercial software. Since these programs use their own databases of materials sometimes the question arises of what the miscalculation in ...

Fully Discrete Interpolation Coefficients Mixed Finite Element Methods for Semi-Linear Parabolic Optimal Control Problem

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
We use the fully discrete interpolation coefficient mixed finite element methods to solve the semi-linear parabolic optimal control problems. The space discretization of the state variable is separated using interpolation coefficient mixed finite ...

Observer‐Based Adaptive Event‐Triggered Tracking Control for Fuzzy TS Systems With Premise Mismatch

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
This paper presents an adaptive logistic event‐triggered observer‐based tracking controller for Takagi‐Sugeno fuzzy systems under constrained inputs and network delays. Leveraging a hybrid LMI and Secretary Bird Optimization approach, this strategy significantly minimizes communication overhead and computational burden while ensuring optimal reference ...

On Two Properties of Shunkov Group

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика", 2021
One of the interesting classes of mixed groups ( i.e. groups that can contain both elements of finite order and elements of infinite order) is the class of Shunkov groups. The group $G$ is called Shunkov group if for any finite subgroup $H$ of $G$ in the

Characterization of Defect Distribution in an Additively Manufactured AlSi10Mg as a Function of Processing Parameters and Correlations with Extreme Value Statistics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...
