Structure of Finite-Dimensional Protori

open access: yesAxioms, 2019
A Structure Theorem for Protori is derived for the category of finite-dimensional protori (compact connected abelian groups), which details the interplay between the properties of density, discreteness, torsion, and divisibility within a finite ...

Numerical Exploration of Thermal Shock Resistance in MgO–C Refractories

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A mesostructure‐resolved numerical framework is developed to evaluate the thermal shock resistance of MgO–C refractories. By modeling interface debonding under rapid temperature changes and introducing a modified thermal shock parameter that accounts for mesocracks, the study shows how graphite content and aggregate size influence thermal shock ...

The orders of subgroup products and coset products [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions on Combinatorics
A sect is a subset of a group given by the product of a finite number of subgroups. It is generally not a direct product nor even a subgroup of the group. For finite groups, the orders of sects are their basic invariants.

Mutually Permutable Products of Finite Groups

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1999
Let the finite group \(G=HK\) be the product of two subgroups \(H\) and \(K\) such that \(H\) permutes with every subgroup of \(K\) and \(K\) permutes with every subgroup of \(H\). It is shown that if \(K\) is nilpotent or if \(K\) is supersoluble and the commutator subgroup of \(G\) is nilpotent, then the supersoluble residuals of \(G\) and \(H ...

Finite Blaschke Products and Decomposition [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics and Applications, 2019
Let $B(z)$ be a finite Blaschke product of degree $n$. We consider the problem when a finite Blaschke product can be written as a composition of two nontrivial Blaschke products of lower degree related to the condition $% B\circ M=B$ where $M$ is a M\"{o}bius transformation from the unit disk onto itself.

Production of MgO/TiC Composites From MgO‐C Recyclates Using Spark Plasma Sintering

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Using the spark plasma sintering technique, MgO/TiC composites are manufactured from recycled MgO‐C refractories stemming from the steel production that were mixed with titanium powder. This article shows, how the size of the Ti grains and their distribution in the powder mixture affect the local carbon concentration in TiC.

On residually finite generalized free products [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1970
Let S = A B be a nontrivial generalized free product of the groups A and B with amalgamated subgroup U and suppose A and B are residually finite groups. Baumslag [1] has given conditions sufficient for S =A *B to itself be residually finite and these have been used to investigate the residual finiteness of S by Baumslag [1] and Dyer [21, when the ...

Bioinspired Shape‐Memory Hook Fasteners With Programmable Interlocking and Silent Release

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Bioinspired hook fasteners made from epoxy shape‐memory polymers are shown to switch between strong, secure attachment and gentle, silent release when heated. By combining programmable geometry and material response, these adaptive fasteners outperform commercial systems in strength and noise control, enabling new solutions for robotics, medical ...

Copper Nanocrystallization in Anodic Oxide Films of Ti–Cu‐Based Bulk Metallic Glass and Its Effect on the Corrosion Resistance and Cytocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Viktoriia Shtefan, Thorgund Nemec, Ute Hempel, Annett Gebert and coworkers demonstrate that anodic treatment of Ti–Cu‐based metallic glass in a nontoxic pyrophosphate electrolyte forms a protective bilayered Ti/Zr‐oxide film enriched with Cu nanocrystals.

Representing by Orthogonal Polynomials for Sums of Finite Products of Fubini Polynomials

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
In the classical connection problem, it is dealt with determining the coefficients in the expansion of the product of two polynomials with regard to any given sequence of polynomials.
