On finite division rings [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1980
Herein it is shown that the set of right powers of a generic element of a finite division ring contains a basis of the ring as an algebra over a prime field. This result is then applied to finite flexible division rings of characteristic not 2 to obtain commutativity.

Zassenhaus conjecture for central extensions of S5 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
We confirm a conjecture of Zassenhaus about rational conjugacy of torsion units in integral group rings for a covering group of the symmetric group S5 and for the general linear group GLð2; 5Þ. The first result, together with others from the literature,

On the Genus of the Idempotent Graph of a Finite Commutative Ring

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications, 2021
Let R be a finite commutative ring with identity. The idempotent graph of R is the simple undirected graph I(R) with vertex set, the set of all nontrivial idempotents of R and two distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if xy = 0.

SMARANDACHE NON-ASSOCIATIVE RINGS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
An associative ring is just realized or built using reals or complex; finite or infinite by defining two binary operations on it. But on the contrary when we want to define or study or even introduce a non-associative ring we need two separate algebraic ...

Unitary Invertible Graphs of Finite Rings

open access: yesDiscussiones Mathematicae - General Algebra and Applications, 2021
Let R be a finite commutative ring with unity. In this paper, we consider set of additive and mutual additive inverses of group units of R and obtain interrelations between them.

Smarandache near-rings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
The main concern of this book is the study of Smarandache analogue properties of near-rings and Smarandache near-rings; so it does not promise to cover all concepts or the proofs of all ...

When is R[x] a principal ideal ring?

open access: yesRevista Integración, 2018
Because of its interesting applications in coding theory, cryptography, and algebraic combinatoris, in recent decades a lot of attention has been paid to the algebraic structure of the ring of polynomials R[x], where R is a finite commutative ring with ...

Uniform Bounds in F-Finite Rings and Lower Semi-Continuity of the F-Signature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper establishes uniform bounds in characteristic $p$ rings which are either F-finite or essentially of finite type over an excellent local ring. These uniform bounds are then used to show that the Hilbert-Kunz length functions and the normalized ...

The invariant rings of the Sylow groups of GU(3,q2), GU(4,q2), Sp(4,q) and O+(4,q) in the natural characteristic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Let G be a Sylow p -subgroup of the unitary groups GU(3,q2)GU(3,q2), GU(4,q2)GU(4,q2), the symplectic group Sp(4,q)Sp(4,q) and, for q odd, the orthogonal group O+(4,q)O+(4,q).

Classification of Finite Rings of Order p6 by Generators and Relations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2013
For any finite abelian group (R,+), we define a binary operation or “multiplication” on R and give necessary and sufficient conditions on this multiplication for R to extend to a ring. Then we show when two rings made on the same group are isomorphic. In
