Real-time dynamics of the Schwinger model as an open quantum system with Neural Density Operators

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Ab-initio simulations of multiple heavy quarks propagating in a Quark-Gluon Plasma are computationally difficult to perform due to the large dimension of the space of density matrices.

Wearable Smart Patches on Sustainable Chitosan With Reversible Microbial Growth‐Inhibitory Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Chitosan, a polysaccharide upcycled from biowaste, has long promised sustainable, biocompatible, and antimicrobial films and devices, an appeal reinforced by its recent regulatory recognition, with several chitosan‐based antibacterial dressings gaining clearance through the Food and Drug Administration's 510(k) pathway.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

The Theory Of Density Representation

open access: yes, 1993
A method to represent finite element meshes in any dimension by functions called mesh density functions is described. The method is based on a generalization of the notion of mesh grading.

Topological observables and θ dependence in high temperature QCD from lattice simulations

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We study topology in Quantum Chromodynamics at high temperatures by means of lattice calculations. Simulations are performed with N f = 2 + 1 + 1 Wilson twisted mass fermions at maximal twist with physical quark masses, and temperatures T ≳ 180 MeV.

Receptor‐Free Identification of Toxic Gases Enabled by Hygroscopic Aqueous Salt Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Water as a gas sensor coating sounds impossible—until it stops evaporating. Here, hygroscopic salt solutions (LiCl, LiBr, H3PO4) form non‐drying aqueous films on CNT chemiresistors under ambient air. Gases partition into these liquid layers, sometimes transforming into water, and generate salt‐specific resistance fingerprints across a four‐channel ...

Irradiation‐Induced Spin Bath Evolution and as‐Grown Hydrogen Defects in CVD Diamond Revealed by NV‐Based DEER Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Here, we provide the reader with the current state of the art in the fabrication of high‐T2‐coherence diamond, optimized through the use of double electron–electron resonance (DEER) spectroscopy. We reveal the main as well as yet unidentified spin defects, the reduction of which is essential for reducing the spin bath and fabricating materials for ...

Phases and phase transitions of U(1)×SU(2) symmetric holographic matter

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
The phase diagram and symmetry breaking patterns of a holographic CFT with U(1) × SU(2) symmetry are analyzed using the simplest holographic action, namely Einstein-Yang-Mills (YM) theory with a negative cosmological constant.

Electrode and Microstructure Dependence of Oxygen Diffusion in Ferroelectric Hafnium Zirconium Oxide Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Significant nanoscale oxygen diffusion coefficient variations are measured in ferroelectric hafnium zirconium oxide films with grain boundaries and electrode interfaces exhibiting values 104 times larger than the grain cores. Overall coefficients are 10X larger for films prepared with metal nitride electrodes compared to refractory metals. New insights
