Lattice QED at Finite Temperature and Finite Density

In this letter, we apply the variational cumulant expansion (VCE) method to the lattice QED, which has complex action at finite density . The chiral order parameter and the number density at finite temperature are calculated.

NNπ Interaction at Finite Temperature and Finite Density

By means of the Matsubara imaginary-time Green's function method, we extend the NNπ interaction to finite-temperature and finite-density by summing bubble diagrams. We find that the effective mass of pion increases but the effective NNπ interaction decreases as the density and/or temperature increase.

Decoupling of the pion at finite temperature and density

We use the Nambu--Jona-Lasinio model at finite temperature and density to investigate the static and dynamical properties of the pion. Near the chiral phase transition the pion is found to decouple from matter. The relevance of this result for hadronic matter is discussed.

The pion at finite temperature and density

We review the low-temperature variation in the pion mass with temperature. This dependence follows from explicit chiral symmetry breaking and can be calculated in terms of pionic interactions. We then show that the standard calculation of the density dependence of the pion mass gives only a small increase in this mass with increasing density.
