Real models for the framed little n$n$‐disks operads

open access: yesJournal of Topology, Volume 18, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract We study the action of the orthogonal group on the little n$n$‐disks operads. As an application we provide small models (over the reals) for the framed little n$n$‐disks operads. It follows in particular that the framed little n$n$‐disks operads are formal (over the reals) for n$n$ even and coformal for all n$n$.

Commuting Pairs in Quasigroups

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Designs, Volume 33, Issue 11, Page 418-427, November 2025.
ABSTRACT A quasigroup is a pair ( Q , ∗ ), where Q is a nonempty set and ∗ is a binary operation on Q such that for every ( a , b ) ∈ Q 2, there exists a unique ( x , y ) ∈ Q 2 such that a ∗ x = b = y ∗ a. Let ( Q , ∗ ) be a quasigroup. A pair ( x , y ) ∈ Q 2 is a commuting pair of ( Q , ∗ ) if x ∗ y = y ∗ x.

Palindromic Width of Finitely Generated Solvable Groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We investigate the palindromic width of finitely generated solvable groups. We prove that every finitely generated 3-step solvable group has finite palindromic width.

On 3‐Designs From P G L ( 2 , q )

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Designs, Volume 33, Issue 11, Page 428-432, November 2025.
ABSTRACT The group P G L ( 2 , q ) acts 3‐transitively on the projective line G F ( q ) ∪ { ∞ }. Thus, an orbit of its action on the k‐subsets of the projective line is the block set of a 3‐ ( q + 1 , k , λ ) design. We find the parameters of the designs formed by the orbit of a block of the form 〈 θ r 〉 or 〈 θ r 〉 ∪ { 0 }, where θ is a primitive ...

Boundary conditions and universal finite‐size scaling for the hierarchical |φ|4$|\varphi |^4$ model in dimensions 4 and higher

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, Volume 78, Issue 10, Page 2001-2118, October 2025.
Abstract We analyse and clarify the finite‐size scaling of the weakly‐coupled hierarchical n$n$‐component |φ|4$|\varphi |^4$ model for all integers n≥1$n \ge 1$ in all dimensions d≥4$d\ge 4$, for both free and periodic boundary conditions. For d>4$d>4$, we prove that for a volume of size Rd$R^{d}$ with periodic boundary conditions the infinite‐volume ...

Uniform finite presentation for groups of polynomial growth

open access: yesDiscrete Analysis
Uniform finite presentation for groups of polynomial growth, Discrete Analysis 2025:1, 29 pp. Let $G$ be a finitely generated infinite group with generators $a_1,\dots,a_k$. The _ball of radius_ $r$ in $G$ is defined to be the set of all elements of $G$

Topological generators of abelian Lie groups and hypercyclic finitely generated abelian semigroups of matrices

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematics, 2012
In this paper we bring together results about the density of subsemigroups of abelian Lie groups, the minimal number of topological generators of abelian Lie groups and a result about actions of algebraic groups. We find the minimal number of generators of a finitely generated abelian semigroup or group of matrices with a dense or a somewhere dense ...

Reconstructing a set from its subset sums: $2$-torsion-free groups

open access: yesDiscrete Analysis
A famous conjecture in graph theory, asked by Kelly (1957) and Ulam (1960) and now known as the reconstruction conjecture, states that every graph with $n\geq 3$ vertices is determined up to isomorphism by the multiset of induced subgraphs with $n-1 ...
