Boundary conditions and universal finite‐size scaling for the hierarchical |φ|4$|\varphi |^4$ model in dimensions 4 and higher

open access: yesCommunications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, EarlyView.
Abstract We analyse and clarify the finite‐size scaling of the weakly‐coupled hierarchical n$n$‐component |φ|4$|\varphi |^4$ model for all integers n≥1$n \ge 1$ in all dimensions d≥4$d\ge 4$, for both free and periodic boundary conditions. For d>4$d>4$, we prove that for a volume of size Rd$R^{d}$ with periodic boundary conditions the infinite‐volume ...

Commuting Pairs in Quasigroups

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Designs, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A quasigroup is a pair (Q,∗) $(Q,\ast )$, where Q $Q$ is a nonempty set and ∗ $\ast $ is a binary operation on Q $Q$ such that for every (a,b)∈Q2 $(a,b)\in {Q}^{2}$, there exists a unique (x,y)∈Q2 $(x,y)\in {Q}^{2}$ such that a∗x=b=y∗a $a\ast x=b=y\ast a$. Let (Q,∗) $(Q,\ast )$ be a quasigroup. A pair (x,y)∈Q2 $(x,y)\in {Q}^{2}$ is a commuting

On Endomorphism Universality of Sparse Graph Classes

open access: yesJournal of Graph Theory, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We show that every commutative idempotent monoid (a.k.a. lattice) is the endomorphism monoid of a subcubic graph. This solves a problem of Babai and Pultr and the degree bound is best‐possible. On the other hand, we show that no class excluding a minor can have all commutative idempotent monoids among its endomorphism monoids. As a by‐product,

Unification of Conformal and Fuzzy Gravities With Internal Interactions Resulting in SO(10) and a Possible Probe Through Stochastic Gravitational Wave Background

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, EarlyView.
Abstract The unification of conformal and fuzzy gravities with internal interactions is based on the facts that i) the tangent group of a curved manifold and the manifold itself do not necessarily have the same dimensions and ii) both gravitational theories considered here have been formulated in a gauge theoretic way.

On Gottlieb groups G_{n+k}(M(Z^m + Z_2,n)) for k=1,2

open access: yesPracì Mìžnarodnogo Geometričnogo Centru
We are motivated by [M. Arkowitz. K. Maruyama. J. Math. Soc. Japan, 66(3):735-743, 2014]: "It would be interesting to compute other Gottlieb groups of Moore spaces such as, for example, G{n+1}(M(A,n))" to compute the Gottlieb groups Gn+k(M(ℤm⊕ℤ2,n)) for ...

Efficient Simulation of Open Quantum Systems on NISQ Trapped‐Ion Hardware

open access: yesAdvanced Quantum Technologies, EarlyView.
Open quantum systems exhibit rich dynamics that can be simulated efficiently on quantum computers, allowing us to learn more about their behavior. This work applies a new method to simulate certain open quantum systems on noisy trapped‐ion quantum hardware.

The birational geometry of GIT quotients

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, EarlyView.
Abstract Geometric invariant theory (GIT) produces quotients of algebraic varieties by reductive groups. If the variety is projective, this quotient depends on a choice of polarisation; by work of Dolgachev–Hu and Thaddeus, it is known that two quotients of the same variety using different polarisations are related by birational transformations.

Spectra of subrings of cohomology generated by characteristic classes for fusion systems

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, EarlyView.
Abstract If F$\mathcal {F}$ is a saturated fusion system on a finite p$p$‐group S$S$, we define the Chern subring Ch(F)${\operatorname{Ch}}(\mathcal {F})$ of F$\mathcal {F}$ to be the subring of H∗(S;Fp)$H^*(S;{\mathbb {F}}_p)$ generated by Chern classes of F$\mathcal {F}$‐stable representations of S$S$. We show that Ch(F)${\operatorname{Ch}}(\mathcal {

On Finite Extension and Conditions on Infinite Subsets of Finitely Generated FC and FNk-groups

open access: yesJournal of New Theory, 2018
Let k>0 an integer. F, τ,N, Nk, and A denote, respectively, the classes offinite, torsion, nilpotent, nilpotent of class at most k, group in which everytwo generator subgroup is in Nk and abelian groups.

Étale motives of geometric origin

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, EarlyView.
Abstract Over qcqs finite‐dimensional schemes, we prove that étale motives of geometric origin can be characterised by a constructibility property which is purely categorical, giving a full answer to the question ‘Do all constructible étale motives come from geometry?’ which dates back to Cisinski and Déglise's work.
