Finiteness of entanglement entropy in collective field theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
We explore the question of finiteness of the entanglement entropy in gravitational theories whose emergent space is the target space of a holographic dual.

FINITE SEQUENCES OF SUBSHIFTS OF FINITE TYPE [PDF]

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2005
The goal of this paper is to present some dynamical properties of finite sequences of finite type subshifts. Moreover, some conditions for algorithmization of these properties are formulated.

FINITENESS PROPERTIES OF LOCALLY FINITE ABELIAN VARIETIES [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Algebra and Computation, 1999
We show that any locally finite abelian variety is generated by a finite algebra. We solve a problem posed by D. Hobby and R. McKenzie by exhibiting a nonfinitely based finite abelian algebra.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Specialization and finiteness (a)symmetry in imperative negation: with a comparison to standard negation

open access: yesLinguistic Typology
This article focuses primarily on the claim in previous research that finiteness asymmetry occurs less often in imperative negation, due to its illocutionary dynamicity, than in standard negation, due to its stativity.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Variations on Noetherianness [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Proceedings in Theoretical Computer Science, 2016
In constructive mathematics, several nonequivalent notions of finiteness exist. In this paper, we continue the study of Noetherian sets in the dependently typed setting of the Agda programming language.

Finiteness results for subgroups of finite extensions

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2015
We discuss in the context of finite extensions two classical theorems of Takahasi and Howson on subgroups of free groups. We provide bounds for the rank of the intersection of subgroups within classes of groups such as virtually free groups, virtually nilpotent groups or fundamental groups of finite graphs of groups with virtually polycyclic vertex ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

On algebraic characterizations for finiteness of the dimension of EG [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Numerical Analysis and Optimization, 2008
Certain algebraic invariants of the integral group ring ZG of a group G were introduced and investigated in relation to the problem of extending the Farrell-Tate cohomology, which is defined for the class of groups of finite virtual cohomological ...
