Analyticity of the Scattering Amplitude, Causality and High-Energy Bounds in Quantum Field Theory on Noncommutative Space-Time

open access: yes, 2006
In the framework of quantum field theory (QFT) on noncommutative (NC) space-time with the symmetry group $O(1,1)\times SO(2)$, we prove that the Jost-Lehmann-Dyson representation, based on the causality condition taken in connection with this symmetry ...

Evidence for infrared finite coupling in Sudakov resummation

open access: yes, 2006
New arguments are presented in favor of the infrared finite coupling approach to power corrections in the context of Sudakov resummation. The more regular infrared behavior of some peculiar combinations of Sudakov anomalous dimensions, free of Landau ...

On identities in the products of group varieties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Let ${\cal B}_n$ be the variety of groups satisfying the law $x^n=1$. It is proved that for every sufficiently large prime $p$, say $p>10^{10}$, the product ${\cal B}_p{\cal B}_p$ cannot be defined by a finite set of identities.

Phenomenology of minority games in efficient regime

open access: yes, 2009
We present a comprehensive study of utility function of the minority game in its efficient regime. We develop an effective description of state of the game.

Principal descriptors of body condition score in Holstein cows.

open access: yesJournal of Dairy Science, 1994
The objective of this study was to assess objectively the ability of observers to assess body condition of dairy cows. Four observers independently assigned a body condition score (five-point scale, .25 increments) and described the appearance of seven ...

Finiteness Conditions for Strictness Analysis

open access: yesDAIMI Report Series, 1993
We give upper bounds on the number of times the fixed point operator needs to be unfolded for strictness analysis of functional languages with lists. This extends previous work both in the syntax-directed nature of the approach and in the ability to deal with Wadler's method for analysing lists. Limitations of the method are indicated.

Topological Defects in Gravitational Theories with Non Linear Lagrangians

open access: yes, 1993
The gravitational field of monopoles, cosmic strings and domain walls is studied in the quadratic gravitational theory $R+\alpha R^2$ with $\alpha |R|\ll 1$, and is compared with the result in Einstein's theory.

Finiteness conditions for finitely generated monoids

open access: yesSemigroup Forum, 1972
In this paper, we show that every finitely generated monoid, with a disjunctive zero 0 such that abc=0 implies cba=0, is finite.

Finitely additive conditional probabilities [PDF]

open access: yesRendiconti del Seminario Matematico e Fisico di Milano, 1985
This paper includes a concise survey of the work done in order to extend de Finetti's coherence condition to the prevision of conditional random quantities. Sections 1 and 2 deal with the equivalence among different formulations of the extended condition and analyse the relations between it and the usual axiomatic treatment of finitely additive ...
