Rhinoscleroma in Finland

The authors present the first case of rhino-scleroma in Finland. The patient was a farmer' wife, aged 41, from eastern Finland. The rhinoscleroma in this case was possibly caused by Klebsiella serratia which could be cultured in abundance from crushed tumour tissue.

The liposomal doxorubicin infusions were well tolerated, with mild fatigue 24–48 h postinfusion as the only side-effect. No bone-marrow suppression and no cardiac toxicity, as measured by left-ventricular ejection fraction, was seen.
