Disposition of fipronil in rats

Chemosphere, 2013
In the scientific literature, little attention has been paid to the disposition of fipronil, a phenyl pyrazole insecticide. In this study, the tissue distribution, the metabolic fate, and the elimination of fipronil was investigated in rats using radiolabeled fipronil. When a single oral dose of (14)C-fipronil (10 mg kg(-1) b.w.) was given to rats, the

Neonicotinoids, fipronil, chlorpyrifos, carbendazim, chlorotriazines, chlorophenoxy herbicides, bentazon, and selected pesticide transformation products in surface water and drinking water from northern Vietnam.

Science of the Total Environment, 2020
Studies on the occurrence of emerging pesticides in surface and drinking water in Vietnam are limited. In this study, lake water (n = 7), river water (n = 1), tap water (n = 46), and bottled water (n = 3) collected from Hanoi and other four provinces in ...

Polypyrrole‐coated rubber foam sorbent for extraction of fipronil and fipronil sulfone in tea

SEPARATION SCIENCE PLUS, 2023
Abstract A polypyrrole‐coated rubber foam sorbent with a steel wire insert was developed for the magnetic solid phase extraction of fipronil and fipronil sulfone from tea samples for analysis by a gas chromatography‐electron capture detector.

Development of novel fluorescence-based and label-free noncanonical G4-quadruplex-like DNA biosensor for facile, specific, and ultrasensitive detection of fipronil.

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2021
Fipronil is a broad-spectrum insecticide widely used in agriculture and residential areas; its indiscriminate use leads to environmental pollution and poses health hazards.

Distribution of fipronil in humans, and adverse health outcomes of in utero fipronil sulfone exposure in newborns

International Journal of Hygiene and Environmental Health, 2019
Fipronil is a highly effective insecticide with extensive usages; however, its distribution and toxic/health effects in the human population after chronic exposure have not yet been clearly identified. Our objectives were to determine the levels of serum fipronil and fipronil sulfone, a primary fipronil metabolite, in a general and sensitive human ...

Compatibility of entomopathogenic nematodes with fipronil

Journal of Helminthology, 2005
AbstractThe survival and infectivity of infective juveniles (IJs) of three species of entomopathogenic nematodes, Steinernema carpocapsae Weiser, S. arenarium (Artyukhovsky) (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae) and Heterorhabditis bacteriophora Poinar (Rhabditida: Heterorhabditidae), were determined after exposure to different concentrations (250, 500, 1000 ...

Acute exposure to fipronil induces oxidative stress, apoptosis and impairs epithelial homeostasis in the midgut of the stingless bee Partamona helleri Friese (Hymenoptera: Apidae).

Science of the Total Environment, 2021
Partamona helleri is an important pollinator in natural and agricultural ecosystems in the neotropics. However, the foraging activity of this bee increases its risk of exposure to pesticides, which may affect both the individuals and the colony.

Sorption Kinetics of Fipronil on Soils

Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2014
Sorption kinetics of fipronil was studied on five soils of varying physico-chemical properties by batch equilibration method. Fipronil sorption on soils conformed to pseudo-second order kinetics and both the initial uptake rate and rate constant had a significant and positive correlation with clay content.

Facial synthesis of fluorine-engineered magnetic covalent organic framework for selective and ultrasensitive determination of fipronil, its metabolites and analogs in food samples.

Food Chemistry
To improve the adsorption affinity and selectivity of fipronils (FPNs), including fipronil, its metabolites and analogs, a magnetic covalent organic framework (Fe3O4@COF-F) with copious fluorine affinity sites was innovatively designed as an adsorbent of

Insecticidal activity of the enantiomers of fipronil

Pest Management Science, 2003
Abstract The two enantiomers of the insecticide fipronil were made by preparative HPLC. The insecticidal activities of the racemic mixture and the two enantiomers against selected agricultural or household pests (cotton stainer, Dysdercus cingulatus F; grain weevil,
