A new Bernstein approximant for minimax filters is suggested. Explicit solutions for maximally flat and monotonic filters are obtained as a special case of the new Bernstein approximant for all linear-phase finite impulse response (FIR) filter types. A design technique starting from arbitrary specifications is described.

In this chapter we learn about adaptive filters that change their weights during work, from sample to sample. The filters use different adaptation equations, resulting from choice of different cost functions that are minimized during signal processing.

In this paper a methodology for the design of FIR and IIR fuzzy filters is presented. The choice to implement fuzzy filters rises from the obvious advantages in terms of low computational costs and easy implementation. The validation of the proposed methodology has been performed through the analysis of several examples of fuzzy filters.

Complex coefficient fir digital filters
Circuits, Systems, and Signal Processing, 1994The complex FIR digital filter is a filter that has complex coefficients in itsZ-domain transfer function. The set of coefficients is determined, based on some criterion, to meet predefined requirements. On this basis, an algorithm is proposed for designing FIR digital filters with asymmetric amplitude response in conjunction with linear phase. Minimax

Sharpened raised-cosine FIR filters
2018 41st International Convention on Information and Communication Technology, Electronics and Microelectronics (MIPRO), 2018Shaping of transition bands in the ideal frequency response allows the analytic design of least-squares FIR filters with a direct control of the transition-band edges. The basic least-squares approximation is obtained by the Fourier series method. In this paper, we use it to develop a straightforward method for the design of steep roll-off FIR filters.

FIR digital filters are discussed in this chapter. We learn the following frequency pass-and-stop filter design approaches: window method, inverse DFT method, weighted least-squares technique, and Parks-McMillan min-max equiripple design. We write Matlab programs implementing most of the discussed methods.
