Interaction Solutions for the Fractional KdVSKR Equations in (1+1)-Dimension and (2+1)-Dimension

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
We extend two KdVSKR models to fractional KdVSKR models with the Caputo derivative. The KdVSKR equation in (2+1)-dimension, which is a recent extension of the KdVSKR equation in (1+1)-dimension, can model the soliton resonances in shallow water. Applying

Sleep Alters the Velocity of Physiological Brain Pulsations in Humans

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sleep alters I/CSF oscillatory flow, driven by increased respiratory (29%) and vasomotor pulsation (21%) velocities, while cardiovascular pulsations decreased by (22%). Velocity is quantified using optical flow analysis of MREG data. Spectral power increases alongside these pulsations (spatial correlation, r = 0.35 and r = 0.39, respectively ...

Consensus Formation and Change are Enhanced by Neutrality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Neutral agents are shown to enhance both the formation and overturning of consensus in collective decision‐making. A general mathematical model and experiments with locusts and humans reveal that neutrality enables robust consensus via simple interactions and accelerates consensus change by reducing effective population size.

Singular Perturbations of First-Order Hyperbolic Systems with Stiff Source Terms

open access: yesJournal of Differential Equations, 1999
This paper deals with initial value problems for nonlinear first-order hyperbolic systems \[ \partial_t U + \sum_{j=1}^{n} A_{j}(U)\partial_{x_j} U = Q(U)/\varepsilon \] where \(U=U(x,t):\mathbb{R}^n\times[0,\infty) \to \mathbb{R}^n\) is the unknown vector function.

High‐Fidelity Synthetic Data Replicates Clinical Prediction Performance in a Million‐Patient Diabetes Cohort

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study generates high‐fidelity synthetic longitudinal records for a million‐patient diabetes cohort, successfully replicating clinical predictive performance. However, deeper analysis reveals algorithmic biases and trajectory inconsistencies that escape standard quality metrics. These findings challenge current validation norms, demonstrating why a

Engineering Compact Base Editors by AlphaFold‐Guided Mutation Scan and Escherichia coli‐Based Tri‐Selection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A miniaturized deaminase SsdAtox was scanned with AlphaFold to identify DNA binding pocket hot spots. Site‐saturation mutagenesis at gatekeeper residue K31 yielded ten‐fold activity enhancement. Trinity Screen, an E. coli‐based three‐in‐one platform selecting for high activity and reduced double‐strand breaks, enabled combinatorial evolution at DNA ...
