‘They Need to Hear You Say It’: Healthcare Professionals’ Perspectives on Barriers and Enablers to End‐of‐Life Discussions With Adolescents and Young Adults With Cancer

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT End‐of‐life conversations with adolescents and young adults (AYAs) with cancer rarely occur without the guidance of healthcare professionals. As a part of the ‘Difficult Discussions’ study, focused on palliative care and advance care planning discussions with AYAs with cancer, we investigated the factors that healthcare professionals identify ...

Two-loop leading colour QCD helicity amplitudes for top quark pair production in the gluon fusion channel

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2021
We present a complete set of analytic helicity amplitudes for top quark pair production via gluon fusion at two-loops in QCD. For the first time, we include corrections due to massive fermion loops which give rise to integrals over elliptic curves.

Feasibility and Safety of High‐Dose Proton Re‐Irradiation in Recurrent Pediatric Central Nervous System Tumors: A Single‐Institution Retrospective Study

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Pediatric central nervous system (CNS) tumors often recur despite multimodality therapy. Although re‐irradiation (re‐RT) has historically been limited by concerns for severe late toxicities, modern techniques have renewed interest in this approach. Proton therapy provides dosimetric advantages that may enable curative re‐treatment with

Path Integrals in Lattice Quantum Chromodynamics

open access: yes, 2007
I discuss the use of path integrals to study strong-interaction physics from first principles. The underlying theory is cast into path integrals which are evaluated numerically using Monte Carlo methods on a space-time lattice.

The FirstINTEGRALAGN Catalog [PDF]

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2006
We present the first INTEGRAL AGN catalog, based on observations performed from launch of the mission in October 2002 until January 2004. The catalog includes 42 AGN, of which 10 are Seyfert 1, 17 are Seyfert 2, and 9 are intermediate Seyfert 1.5. The fraction of blazars is rather small with 5 detected objects, and only one galaxy cluster and no star ...

Defining Roles in Pediatric Palliative Care: Perspectives From Oncology and Palliative Care Teams

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Early integration of pediatric palliative care (PPC) is associated with improved symptom management, quality of life, and healthcare utilization for children with cancer. Despite this, variation persists in how PPC is understood, operationalized, and integrated within pediatric oncology programs. In particular, ambiguity surrounding

Non-existence criteria for Laurent polynomial first integrals

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2003
In this paper we derived some simple criteria for non-existence and partial non-existence Laurent polynomial first integrals for a general nonlinear systems of ordinary differential equations $\dot x = f(x)$, $x \in \mathbb{R}^n$ with $f(0) = 0$. We show

The Role of Invasive Procedures in the Treatment of Complicated Gastrointestinal Graft‐Versus‐Host Disease in Pediatric Patients

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Gastrointestinal graft‐versus‐host disease (GI GVHD) following hematopoietic stem cell transplant is typically managed with medical therapy, but surgery and angioembolization may be warranted in selected cases with life‐threatening complications.
