First integrals for the Duffing-van der Pol type oscillator

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2010
In this article, under certain parametric conditions, we study the first integrals of the Duffing-van der Pol-type oscillator equations which include the van der Pol and the Duffing oscillator systems, as particular cases.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Planar Polynomial Differential Systems of Degree One: Full Characterization of Its First Integrals

open access: yesInternational Journal of Differential Equations
In this work, we classify the first integrals of all planar polynomial differential systems of degree one with real constant coefficients. Additionally, we characterize when these first integrals are either polynomial, or rational, or nonalgebraic.

A Framework for Non-Gaussian Functional Integrals with Applications

open access: yes, 2019
Functional integrals can be defined in terms of families of locally compact topological groups and their associated Banach-valued Haar integrals. The definition forgoes the goal of constructing a genuine measure on the domain of integration, but instead ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

On multiplicative conformable fractional integrals: theory and applications

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems
In this paper, we first introduce the multiplicative conformable left and right fractional integrals, followed by the derivation of key properties, such as integrability, boundedness, continuity, and the semi-group property, for the newly defined ...

On the Problem of Existence of Holomorphic First Integrals

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1995
The author considers the system \(x' = B(x,y)\), \(y' = - A(x,y)\), where \(A(x,y)\), \(B(x,y)\) are real analytic functions in a neighbourhood of \(0 \in \mathbb{R}^2\) and \(' = d/dt\), as well as its complexification, i.e. a holomorphic differential equation defined in a neighbourhood of \(0 \in \mathbb{C}^2\), and \(' = d/dz\). To avoid the trivial

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Local monomialization conjecture of a singular foliation of Darboux type

open access: yes, 2015
After the nice result introduced by Belotto in [1] concerning the local monomialization of a singular foliation given by n first integrals, this work is a continuation in the same spirit.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
