First-order and higher-order approximations of observation impact

open access: yesMeteorologische Zeitschrift, 2007
In studies by Errico (2007) and Gelaro et al. (2007), it was found that first order approximations of the reduction of forecast error by the analysis were systematically close to twice the correct value, while higher order approximations lead to ...

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.

Dynamics near a first order phase transition

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We study various dynamical aspects of systems possessing a first order phase transition in their phase diagram. We isolate three qualitatively distinct types of theories depending on the structure of instabilities and the nature of the low temperature ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Simple first order data compression processor concept [PDF]

open access: yes, 1967
Data-compression processing systems based on an analog-to-digital converter /ADC/, includes a qualitative comparator for comparison of the ADC output with a ramp generator, which is connected as a bidirectional binary counter with selective inputs.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

A Pure First Order Representation for Undamped Second Order Descriptor Systems [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sciences, Islamic Republic of Iran, 2011
The aim of this paper is to analyze the undamped second order descriptor systems to show the possibility of transform an undamped second order descriptor system to a pure first order descriptor system ,on different ways, while stating some of its ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.
