LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

First-principles calculation of H vibrational excitations at a dislocation core of Pd
Palladium is an ideal system for understanding the behavior of hydrogen in metals. In Pd, H is located both in octahedral sites and in dislocation cores, which act as nanoscale H traps and form Cottrell atmospheres.

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Superconductivity of thulium substituted clathrate hexahydrides at moderate pressure
Due to the BCS theory, hydrogen, the lightest element, would be the prospect of room-temperature superconductor after metallization, but because of the difficulty of the hydrogen metallization, the theory about hydrogen pre-compression was proposed that ...

Magnetic properties of SnSe monolayer doped by transition-metal atoms: A first-principle calculation
Using the first-principles calculations, we investigate the structural, electronic, and magnetic properties of 3d transition metal (TM) (TM = Co, Cu, Mn, Fe, and Ni) atoms substitutional doping of SnSe monolayer. Magnetism is observed for Co, Mn, Fe, and

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

First-principles electronic-band calculations on organic conductors
Predicting electronic-band structures is a key issue in understanding the properties of materials or in materials design. In this review article, application examples of first-principles calculations, which are not based on adjustable empirical ...

First-principles calculation of optical responses based on nonorthogonal localized orbitals
Based on ab initio software packages using nonorthogonal localized orbitals, we develop a general scheme of calculating response functions. We test the performance of this method by calculating nonlinear optical responses of materials, like the shift ...

We present a study of the superconducting transition in MgB2 using the ab-initio pseudopotential density functional method and the fully anisotropic Eliashberg equation. Our study shows that the anisotropic Eliashberg equation, constructed with ab-initio

Numerical Inductance Calculations Based on First Principles
A method of calculating inductances based on first principles is presented, which has the advantage over the more popular simulators in that fundamental formulas are explicitly used so that a deeper understanding of the inductance calculation is obtained with no need for explicit discretization of the inductor.
