Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Towards a More User-friendly Correction

open access: yes, 1994
We first present our view of detection and correction of syntactic errors. We then introduce a new correction method, based on heuristic criteria used to decide which correction should be preferred.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

On a Mixed Problem for a Constant Coefficient Second-Order System

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems, 2010
The paper is devoted to the study of an initial boundary value problem for a linear second-order differential system with constant coefficients. The first part of the paper is concerned with the existence of the solution to a boundary value problem for ...

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Assessment of the Centralization of Root Canal Preparation with Rotary Systems

open access: yesActa Stomatologica Croatica, 2016
Objective: Apical deviations are important factors in endodontic therapy, since they can cause the treatment failure. The aim of the present study was to determine the centering capacity of ProTaper Universal™, Twisted File™ and Revo-S® rotary systems ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.

Fuzzy logic controller algorithm for placing files in a data storage system

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики
The problem of organizing multi-level data storage is discussed. Information loses its relevance over time and the cost of storing it on highly available media, such as solid-state drives, becomes impractical. Until now, the placement of new files in the

Preference of undergraduate students after first experience on nickel-titanium endodontic instruments

open access: yesRestorative Dentistry & Endodontics, 2016
Objectives This study aimed to compare two nickel-titanium systems (rotary vs. reciprocating) for their acceptance by undergraduate students who experienced nickel-titanium (NiTi) instruments for the first time.

Legal Void in the First to File Principle in the Trademark Registration System in Indonesia and Its Implications for Trademark Ownership Disputes

open access: yesAsian Journal of Social and Humanities
The trademark registration system in Indonesia constitutionally adheres to the First to File principle, namely that the right to a trademark is granted to the party who first legally files for registration. However, in practice, this principle often gives rise to legal issues, especially when there is a dispute over trademark ownership between the ...
