The fiscal implications of stringent climate policy [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Stringent climate policy compatible with the targets of the 2015 Paris Agreement would pose a substantial fiscal challenge. Reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 95% or more by 2050 would raise 7% (1-17%) of GDP in carbon tax revenue, half of current, global tax revenue. Revenues are relatively larger in poorer regions.

Stabilization with Fiscal Policy

open access: yesJournal of Monetary Economics, 2021
I reconsider the long-standing consensus view that macroeconomic stabilization should rely on monetary policy, not fiscal policy. I use an analytically tractable heterogeneous agent New Keynesian (HANK) model that is parameterized so as to admit a bubble in public debt. Circulating tumor DNA monitoring and blood tumor mutational burden in patients with metastatic solid tumors treated with atezolizumab

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In patients treated with atezolizumab as a part of the MyPathway (NCT02091141) trial, pre‐treatment ctDNA tumor fraction at high levels was associated with poor outcomes (radiographic response, progression‐free survival, and overall survival) but better sensitivity for blood tumor mutational burden (bTMB).

Redistribution and Fiscal Policy [PDF]

Abstract: This paper studies the optimal behavior of a democratic government in its use of fiscal policies to redistribute income. First, I characterize the optimal Ramsey allocation in heterogeneous agents' version of the neoclassical growth model. Second, I show that if I follow the empirical evidence in Storesletten, Telmer, and Yaron (2002) and ...
