Biorefinery sustainability assessment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This article presents a comparative sustainability assessment of three biorefineries that produce liquid fuels used in current infrastructure. The three options considered are biochemical production of ethanol from grain and from cellulosic feedstocks ...

Mg-Fe-mixed oxides derived from layered double hydroxides: A study of the surface properties [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2011
The influence of surface properties on the selectivity of the synthesized catalysts was studied, considering that their selectivity towards particular hydrocarbons is crucial for their overall activity in the chosen Fischer- -Tropsch reaction ...

Iron supported on beaded carbon black as active, selective and stable catalyst for direct CO2 to olefin conversion

open access: yesCatalysis Communications, 2023
The Fischer-Tropsch-to-Olefins process allows to convert waste stemming CO2 with green hydrogen to olefins. Iron can catalyse both core reactions: 1) reverse-water-gas-shift as well as 2) Fischer-Tropsch.

Highly Dispersed CoO Embedded on Graphitized Ordered Mesoporous Carbon as an Effective Catalyst for Selective Fischer–Tropsch Synthesis of C5+ Hydrocarbons

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2022
Herein, we report the high Fischer–Tropsch synthesis performance of the Co-based catalysts supported on graphitized ordered mesoporous carbon (GMC-900) by using a facile strategy.

Room‐Temperature Gas‐Phase CO2‐to‐C3 Coupling by a 4f‐Aromatic Cluster

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We engineered a 4f metalla aromatic cluster, PrB2C2−, that enables efficient sequential C−C coupling with CO2 at room temperature, yielding a linear C3 backbone. This system provides a complete theoretical catalytic cycle and establishes a new design principle for lanthanide mediated CO2 activation.

Generation and resource potential of abiogenic alkane gas under organic–inorganic interactions in petroliferous basins

open access: yesJournal of Natural Gas Geoscience, 2021
The generation mechanism of abiogenic alkane gas and whether the gas has industrial values are the focus of international attention. CH4 generated by Fischer–Tropsch synthesis is an important constitutent of abiogenic alkane gas.
