Influence of watershed’s anthropogenic activities on fish nitrogen and carbon stable isotope ratios in nine French lakes [PDF]

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems, 2009
The relationships between fish community δ15N and δ13C values and land use in watersheds and in buffer zones of nine French lakes were studied. The results showed inter-lakes variability of mean δ15N and δ13C values for different fish species.

Variation in Community Structure and Abundance of Fish in Simple Structured Shallow Sandy Habitats

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
Sandy beaches and their surf zones characterise many of the world's open coastlines. They are important breeding, nursery and feeding areas for many species of fish.

Efficiency of a macroroughness block ramp in reducing the impact of low-head dams on riverine fish dispersion

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems
Macroroughness ramps (e.g. with a rough bed and protruding blocks evenly distributed in staggered rows) are nature-like fishways offering a wide range of flow conditions and are expected to be very efficient tools to reduce the impact of weirs on the ...

COMPARING PREDATOR ABUNDANCE AND FISH DIVERSITY IN MPA SITES (KORNATI NP, CROATIA) AND ADJACENT SITES EXPLOITED BY FISHERIES [PDF]

open access: yesCroatian Journal of Fisheries, 2012
Fishing activities and other anthropogenic influences have direct and indirect effects on fish community structure. One expectation may be that with increasing fishing pressure and decreasing size selectivity of fisheries all predator populations decline

The structure of fish community in the river Mirna

open access: yesActa Biologica Slovenica, 2012
Natural perturbations and human pressure increasingly affect the river ecosystems and their biological communities. Fish species are a good indicator of the river status and one of the factors for the assessment of ecological condition by the Water ...

State of Lake Onega fish community under fishery pressure

open access: yesТрансформация экосистем, 2023
The article gives a characteristic of fish catches (2018–2022) in Lake Onega – the main commercial fishery waterbody of Karelia. The official five-year statistics is evidence of the stable development of its fishery sector. Fishing is mostly conducted in

Loss of AMBRA1 activates MAPK and angiogenesis signaling pathways in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Loss of AMBRA1 in melanoma cells activates multiple oncogenic pathways associated with tumor progression. Transcriptomic and protein network analyses revealed that AMBRA1 depletion enhances MAPK/ERK signaling, angiogenesis, TGF‐β/EMT signaling, and Wnt/axon guidance pathways.

Exotic species, Micropterus salmoides, as a key bioindicator influencing the reservoir health and fish community structure

open access: yesJournal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity, 2016
This study was carried out to analyze the difference in fish fauna, ecological indicator characteristics, biological status of other fish populations, and fish community structures between two groups of reservoir ecosystems along with the invasion of an ...

Effectiveness of rTMS on Working Memory and Inhibitory Impairments in Patients With Post‐Stroke Executive Deficits

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Considerable efforts have been dedicated to developing effective treatments for post‐stroke executive impairment (PSEI), among which repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has shown great potential. This study aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects of high‐frequency rTMS on working memory (WM) and response ...
