Fluroscence in-situ hybridization negative PML/RARA: A cryptic puzzle

open access: yesIndian Journal of Health Sciences and Biomedical Research KLEU, 2015
Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL) has defined biology and clinical course that is, distinct from the other forms of acute myelogenous leukemia. It may present with potentially devastating coagulopathy and the sensitivity to retinoid differentiating ...

Detection of t(7;12)(q36;p13) in paediatric leukaemia using dual colour fluorescence in situ hybridisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The identification of chromosomal rearrangements is of utmost importance for the diagnosis and classification of specific leukaemia subtypes and therefore has an impact on therapy choices in individual cases.

Cytogenetical studies on fishes. II. Karyotypes of four carangid fishes.

open access: yesThe Japanese Journal of Genetics, 1979
All four carangid fish species (Trachurus japonicus, Caranx equula, C. sexfasciatus, and Alectis cilialis) studied here showed a diploid chromosome number of 48. The karyotype comprises all acrocentric pairs (nos. 1 to 24) in Alectis cilialis, but the largest chromosome pair (no. 1) changed into subtelocentrics in Caranx equula and C. sexfasciatus.

Metastatic potential of small posterior uveal melanomas

open access: yesActa Ophthalmologica, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To investigate the prevalence of aggressive traits in small posterior uveal melanomas (UM). Methods This retrospective, multicentre cohort study included 804 patients with small posterior UM (≤9 mm in largest basal diameter, ≤3 mm in thickness) from centres in the UK, Germany, and Sweden.

Chromosomal and histological evidences of infertility in F2 and F2 backcross. Hybrid generations of Clarias anguillaris and Heterobranchus longifilis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Male meiosis was studied in 9 different mating combinations in parental, first, second and backcross generation hybrids of Clarias anguillaris and Heterobranchus longifilis. 27 bivalents were recorded in metaphase I for seven mating combinations.

Genocopy of EVI1‐AML with paraneoplastic diabetes insipidus: PRDM16 overexpression by t(1;2)(p36;p21) and enhancer hijacking

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
Summary Diabetes insipidus (DI) in patients with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) and chromosome 3q alterations (EVI1/PRDM3/MECOM overexpression) constitutes a poorly understood paraneoplasia. A 44‐year‐old patient presented with clinical and morphological features of this syndrome but, surprisingly, disclosed the rare translocation t(1;2)(p36;p21), with ...

Detection of fluorescence in situ hybridization on human metaphase chromosomes by near-field scanning optical microscopy [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Fluorescence in situ hybridization signals on human metaphase chromosomes are detected by a near-field scanning optical microscope. This makes it possible to localize and identify several fluorescently labeled genomic DNA fragments on a single ...

Comorbidities and mutations including single‐ and multihit TET2 mutations in relation to outcome in chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia—A population‐based study

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
In a population‐based cohort of 149 chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML) patients, multihit TET2 mutation was associated with older age, lower LDH and less leucocytosis. We found no association with autoimmune disease or thrombosis. Patients with multihit TET2 mutation had a significantly longer overall survival than the patients without or with one

Identification of a New Mullet Species Complex Based on an Integrative Molecular and Cytogenetic Investigation of Mugil hospes (Mugilidae: Mugiliformes)

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2018
Mullets are very common fishes included in the family Mugilidae, (Mugiliformes), which are characterized by both a remarkably uniform external morphology and internal anatomy.
