Effective therapeutic targeting of CTNNB1‐mutant hepatoblastoma with WNTinib

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
WNTinib, a Wnt/CTNNB1 inhibitor, was tested in hepatoblastoma (HB) experimental models. It delayed tumor growth and improved survival in CTNNB1‐mutant in vivo models. In organoids, WNTinib outperformed cisplatin and showed enhanced efficacy in combination therapy, supporting its potential as a targeted treatment for CTNNB1‐mutated HB.

An appraisal of the efficiency of fish marketing system in Lake Chad basin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Fish products from the Chad Basin Lake play important role in meeting fish protein needs of Nigeria: they contribute not less than 25% of the total domestic fish supply and are significant in determining the availability of processed products and ...

Chromosome breakpoint distribution of damage induced in peripheral blood lymphocytes by densely ionising radiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Purpose: To assess the chromosomal breakpoint distribution in human peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) after exposure to a low dose of high linear energy transfer (LET) α-particles using the technique of multiplex fluorescence in situ hybridisation (m ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Ecology of common bully (Gobiomorphus cotidianus) in the Tarawera and Rangitaiki rivers: isolation by inland distance or anthropogenic discharge? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Previous research has identified distinct genetic, life-history and reproductive differences between populations of common bully (Gobiomorphus cotidianus) upstream and downstream of a pulp and paper mill outfall on the Tarawera River in the Bay of Plenty,

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Temporal and Spatial Distribution Characteristics of Fish Resources in a Typical River–Lake Confluence Ecosystem During the Initial Period of Fishing Ban

open access: yesFishes
This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the spatio-temporal dynamics of fish resources in the confluence waters of Poyang Lake and the Yangtze River, focusing on the initial phase of a 10-year fishing ban implemented in January 2020.

Impact of hard-bottom substrata on the small-scale distribution of fish and decapods in shallow subtidal temperate waters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
The micro-scale spatial distribution patterns of a demersal fish and decapod crustacean assemblage were assessed in a hard-bottom kelp environment in the southern North Sea. Using quadrats along line transects, we assessed the in situ fish and crustacean
