Optimizing Digging Equipment Productivity Using Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Method in Coal Overburden Mining Activities

open access: yesInvotek: Jurnal Inovasi Vokasional dan Teknologi, 2023
Coal companies have an overburden stripping production target of 95,000 bcm in January 2022, while the realization of production with the Sumitomo SH 350 LHD excavator and Hitachi Zaxis 350 H excavator is only 77,000 bcm or 82% of the production target ...

When Technology Falters: Ensuring Donor Safety and System Reliability Amid Apheresis Technical Challenges

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
This study reviews three adverse events during single donor platelet collection using root cause analysis. Causes included human error, equipment defects, and procedural lapses. Though all donors fully recovered, the incidents underscore the need for strict SOP adherence, staff training, and donor safety to maintain trust and donation retention.

Investigation of the role of fishbone activity in the formation of internal transport barrier in HL-2A plasma

open access: yesPhysics of Plasmas, 2022
A tokamak scenario with q(0) close to 1 has been achieved on HL-2A tokamak, which is an internal transport barrier (ITB) at low central shear or a steady-state ITB combined with an H-mode edge barrier.

The Culture Clash of AI Adoption in Lean Quality Management. Resolving the Tensions at Siemens Electronics Works Amberg

open access: yesInformation Systems Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Artificial intelligence (AI) brings great potential for manufacturers, but clashes with the established culture due to the unexplainable and opaque nature of the solutions it provides. Having little experience in AI and machine learning (ML), most manufacturing leaders experience barriers implementing AI.

Infernal Fishbone Mode [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
A new kind of fishbone instability associated with circulating energetic ions is predicted. The considered instability is essentially the energetic particle mode; it is characterized by m/n not equal to 1 (m and n are the poloidal and toroidal mode numbers, respectively). The mode is localized inside the flux surface where the safety factor (q) is q* =

Discovering the Familiar: Exploring Everyday Practice in the Design of Tools and Artefacts

open access: yesInternational Journal of Art &Design Education, EarlyView.
Abstract The design of everyday objects and artefacts, tools and technologies can prove particularly challenging for design. Their very pervasiveness, ease of application and seeming simplicity can mask the complex array of human practice, knowledge and skills that enables their use posing serious implications for critical design research and practice.

Estimation of the fishbone optimal orientation for a Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District oilfield

open access: yesGeoresursy
The objective is the junction zone of the multilateral fishbone wellbores planned at the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District oilfield. Reservoir rock stability around the junction area is estimated with the help of the full coupled 3D poroelastic modeling.
