Quantum fisher metric and uncertainty relations

Physics Letters A, 1988
Abstract The connection between the recently discovered quantum-mechanical analogue of the Fisher information metric and the uncertainty relations is further investigated, with special emphasis on the role of the quantum counterpart of the Cramer-Rao inequality.

Using the Fisher-Rao Metric to Compute Facial Similarity

2010
In this paper we show how the Fisher-Rao metric can be used to compute the similarity of fields of surface normals, under the assumption of a von-Mises Fisher (vMF) distribution. We use the similarity measure to analyse differences in facial shape due to gender and expression.

THE FISHER–RAO METRIC FOR LINES IN A CONVEX IMAGE

International Journal of Pattern Recognition and Artificial Intelligence, 2007
The Fisher–Rao metric on the parameter space for the set of lines in a two-dimensional convex image is approximated under the assumption that the errors in the measurements are small. The volume of the parameter space under the approximating metric is proportional to the area of the image under the Euclidean metric. In the case of a rectangular image,

On the Fisher-Rao Information Metric in the Space of Normal Distributions

2019
The Fisher-Rao distance between two probability distribution functions, as well as other divergence measures, is related to entropy and is in the core of the research area of information geometry. It can provide a framework and enlarge the perspective of analysis for a wide variety of domains, such as statistical inference, image processing (texture ...
