Transactions of the American Fisheries Society, 1968Abstract The yield from an exploited fish population depends on the rate of harvesting (fishing mortality rate) and the magnitude of the standing stock. The latter is determined by rates of increase from recruitment and growth and rates of loss from both natural and fishing mortality.
