Jurnal Permukiman, 2010 Tanaman kelapa sawit yang dibudidayakan pada kondisi normal dan sehat mempunyai 40 –50 pelepah daun per pohon. Pemangkasan pelepah untuk memudahkan pemotongan tandan buah. Pelepah daun yang dipangkas sebanyak 3 buah dan pemanenan dilakukan 4 – 5 kali dalam setahun. Pemanfaatan pelepah selama ini belum optimal, karena hanya ditumpuk di lapangan.
