Fission-fragment total kinetic energy and mass yields for neutron-induced fission of 235U and 238U with En =200 keV – 30 MeV

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
The average Total Kinetic Energy (TKE) release and fission-fragment yields in neutron-induced fission of 235U and 238U was measured using a Frisch-gridded ionization chamber.

Preliminary results on the 233U capture cross section and alpha ratio measured at n_TOF (CERN) with the fission tagging technique [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
233U is of key importance among the fissile nuclei in the Th-U fuel cycle. A particularity of 233U is its small neutron capture cross-section, which is on average about one order of magnitude lower than the fission cross-section.

ATL2 Recruits TRAK1 to Promote Mitochondrial Transport at ER–Mitochondria Contact Sites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mitochondrial transport and distribution are crucial for cellular homeostasis, yet whether and how they are regulated by endoplasmic reticulum (ER)–mitochondria contact sites remains unclear. Here, we demonstrate that the ER protein atlastin‐2 (ATL2) orchestrates mitochondrial transport and distribution by promoting assembly of the transport ...

A compact multi-plate fission chamber for the simultaneous measurement of 233U capture and fission cross-sections

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
233U plays the essential role of fissile nucleus in the Th-U fuel cycle. A particularity of 233U is its small neutron capture cross-section which is about one order of magnitude lower than the fission cross-section on average.

A Biofabricated Human Acinus‐on‐a‐Chip Unveils Mechanotransductive Drivers of Ventilator‐Induced Lung Injury via Decoupling Volutrauma and Barotrauma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This bioinspired acinus‐on‐a‐chip recapitulates VILI pathology, revealing that volutrauma drives P53/NF‐κB pathways while barotrauma triggers mitochondrial‐Wnt dysregulation. A fibrotic transitional cell cluster was identified. Pharmacological interventions targeting these pathways significantly ameliorated injury, establishing a mechanobiological ...

First experimental prompt γ-ray spectra in fast neutron-induced fission of 238U

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2017
The knowledge of prompt fission γ-ray emission has been of major interest in reactor physics since few years, but it is also important in the understanding of the fission process.

Phase Separation of TRIM21 Modulates PTPN14 Stability to Drive Flow‐Dependent Endothelial Activation and Atherogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Disturbed flow promotes the formation of TRIM21‐rich biomolecular droplets, which concentrate TRIM21 and PTPN14 and facilitate their SPRY‐FERM interaction (illustrated by the TRIM21 D355‐PTPN14 R132 salt bridge). This condensate‐driven proximity enables TRIM21 to catalyze K48‐linked polyubiquitination of PTPN14 at lysine 956, leading to proteasome ...

RSF1‐Dependent PAR Turnover Promotes 53BP1 Liquid Condensate Formation at DNA Damage Sites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
At sites of DNA damage, RSF1 recruits PARG to accelerate PAR turnover, triggering a switch from PAR‐driven condensates to 53BP1 condensates. This condensate transition enables p53‐dependent gene transcription and coordinates the DNA damage response.

Engineering and Characterization of a Fluorescent Fission Yeast Arp2/3 Complex for Single Molecule Mechanistic Investigations

open access: yesCytoskeleton, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Arp2/3 complex is a seven‐component protein complex that facilitates the assembly of branched actin filament networks by binding to pre‐existing “mother” actin filaments and initiating the nucleation of new branched “daughter” filaments. Arp2/3 complex must be activated by a nucleation promoting factor such as the WASP/Scar protein family. The

Age ratio in groups of a social ungulate affects epizoochorous dispersal and diaspore exchanges

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Animal‐mediated seed dispersal is a key process in plant population dynamics, species distribution and ecosystem functioning. As long‐distance dispersal agents, ungulates help to maintain native plant populations facing abiotic changes in their habitat and habitat fragmentation or habitat loss.
