The conservative treatment of fissure-in-ano
Abstract A randomized clinical trial assessed the value of regular anal dilatation in combination with a topical local anaesthetic in the treatment of 82 patients with a posterior fissure-in-ano. One month after treatment the fissure had healed in 43·6 per cent of patients using 2 per cent lignocaine gel alone and in 41·9 per cent of ...

Triboelectric charge generation at polymer‐metal interfaces arises from the interplay of polymer mechanochemistry, polymer physical properties, and material transfer, where ion‐derived dipoles modulate the interfacial potential and mechanochemically generated electronic states and work function differences drive electron transfer, providing a unified ...

The Nonadiabatic Nature of the Substituent Effects in Azobenzene
Unified nonadiabatic switching: thermal Z→E isomerization of para‐substituted azobenzenes proceeds through a single nonadiabatic rotational pathway. The iconic bell‐shaped Hammett plot is a σp artifact, not a reflection of a mechanistic change, exposing the limits of single‐reference density functional theory (DFT) and establishing activation entropy ...

ABSTRACT Background No consistent genetic etiology has been found for a group of six different conditions in humans with multiple malformations called “recurrent constellations of embryonic malformations” (RCEM). Recent studies indicate hypoxia/reoxygenation and generation Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) as an underlying mechanism for RCEM with the ...

1. The skull features a broad, dorsoventrally flattened frontal region articulating with an elongated upper jaw that is complemented by the mandible's downward bend along its proximal half. 2. The low mechanical advantage in the mandible is attributed to the reduced and shallow insertion areas of the adductor muscles, which are positioned close to the ...
